Hiba Zafran (she/her)
" I am a poet, academic, and queer multiple-migrant. My areas of practice reflect my own and my family’s path towards healing. Living as a guest on Mohawk territory in Canada, I have also taken responsibility to engage with and learn from Indigenous communities. I work part-time as an academic, which helps to improve my therapeutic practice. I take an intersectional approach to mental health, grief and (historical) trauma counselling around issues pertaining to 2SLGBTQIA+, migration, racism, Islamophobia, ableism. I have experience with Indigenous health as well as mental health support in the context of physical disability. My approaches strive for culturally safe care and building on strengths. Online and activity/arts-based group therapies offered, and rehabilitation consultation and support for students of any age. "
