Aïka Mathelier-1.jpg

"Aïka Mathelier is a French, English, and Creole speaking licensed Social Worker with several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in different contexts. She understands the complexity of interpersonal relationships and is passionate about empowering people as they navigate difficult areas in their life. Whether it be anxiety, stress, depression, interpersonal relationship, self-esteem, or work challenges, navigating through it all may seem like a never-ending battle. Aïka strongly believes in creating a safe space, void of any judgment, where one can feel supported while overcoming these struggles.

Aïka also advocates for social justice, and understands the impact of intergenerational, situational, and developmental trauma on interpersonal relationships as well as social dynamics. She strongly believes individuals should feel heard and respected for who they are as well as what they have experienced. As such, she works with a systemic, humanistic, client-focused, and solution-focused approach.

Aïka completed her Master in Social Work degree with a focus on intercultural interventions, international adoption, intergenerational conflicts within families having adopted internationally, and the use of art in a context of post-traumatic stress. She is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Travailleurs Sociaux et Thérapeutes Conjugaux et Familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ)."
